Cassette tapes were once the wonderful new invention that took the place of the old fashioned tape recorder and record player. Now they are stashed away and stored in dark places, becoming more brittle as the years go by.Music will always live on but precious memories that were recorded live onto cassette tapes many years ago are in danger of being lost forever.
Would you like to convert your cassettes to mp3?
A great product called Audacity can put a permanent pause on losing your cassette tapes by converting them to digital.
The procedure is very simple.
Here's how to do it
Download Audacity installer from Ninite.com. Also download Lame MP3. Lame MP3 allows you to export MP3 files.
You will need to connect your equipment. The easiest and most simplest way is to purchase a 3.5mm Stereo Plug to 3.5mm Stereo Plug audio cable. One end goes into the devices headphone jack and the other into the line-in (blue) socket on the back of your desktop computer, separate from the microphone line-in which is pink.
